At GITEX 2022 , the Ministry of Health and Prevention ( MoHAP ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) with Injazat , the UAE ’ s home-grown technology champion in cloud and cybersecurity , to accelerate Digital Transformation and provide advanced , full-fledged health services .
The collaboration targets the development of multiple digital health solutions , in line with the Ministry ’ s strategic objectives to provide innovative and advanced technology-based and AI-integrated services . The MoU also comes in response to the government ’ s ambitions towards making the UAE a leading international destination in smart healthcare .
The agreement will see MoHAP leverage Injazat ’ s technological capabilities to launch digital solutions that can provide seamless and improved healthcare .
Both parties will work together to enable a single , unified platform for patients and providers , as well as establish a strong digital strategy to help all stakeholders adapt to emerging healthcare trends and improve patient experience .
Additionally , to enhance the quality of health services and patients ’ safety , both parties will develop an innovative platform for data analysis of the population , using a comprehensive and sustainable analysis system . AI-based analysis will equip MoHAP with the necessary insights to improve the policies and processes that can ultimately deliver innovative and comprehensive health services as per the best international standards .
Dr . Ziad Arnaout , SVP Digital Healthcare , Injazat , tells us more about this collaboration and how it will impact the UAE ’ s population . . . .
Can you tell us more about your partnership with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and what you aim to achieve ?
We have been working very closely with UAE ’ s Ministry of Health and Prevention ( MoHAP ) on aligning the future digital projects . However , we have mainly been focusing on bringing more uniformity in the healthcare space – such as the services provided to patients and how we can integrate them from a digital perspective .
Can you tell us more about the Ministry ’ s Digital Transformation ambitions and how you ’ re supporting that ?
MoHAP is trying to unify services at a national level , especially when it comes to data . It is trying to bring in different clinical data and non-clinical data , such as the National Health Cloud . What Injazat is trying to do is bring as many solutions as possible to support MoHAP ’ s digitalisation journey .
How is Injazat helping to make the UAE a leading country in smart healthcare ?
At Injazat , we strive to enhance and empower human achievement . We have contributed to the Abu Dhabi industry by introducing Malaffi ; one of the region ’ s first Health Information Exchange platforms that safely connects public and private healthcare providers across Abu Dhabi . This has been , in my opinion , one of the most successful implementations across the globe . I think that helped in actually unifying data and creating a single source of truth for medical providers . It also created and contributed a lot to the delivery of care and providing even better healthcare .
Lately , with Malaffi , we ' ve launched the patient portal – which is new service , with more slowly being introduced . In addition to that we also brought out more solutions to support the healthcare industry during the pandemic . Furthermore , we are also working on other offerings to aid primary healthcare and are developing data analytics to try and support the growing population .
What are some emerging technology trends within the healthcare space ?
I think one of the key technologies that will emerge is the ‘ data economy ’ and how we can use data and population to create more services in this space . Data will help in introducing new business models , which , in turn , enhance revenues and provide efficiencies . So , I believe , data economy is going to be a key element for any healthcare industry .
In addition to that , we are also talking about new technologies like Augmented and Virtual Reality . These will contribute to the futuristic concept of the Metaverse . However , we believe that there are four services that are going to be key , which are : virtual care services , remote IoT , home care and connectivity as these will all be important in the communication of digital services . We believe these technologies will be appearing very soon and dictate the future of the healthcare industry .
WE STRIVE TO ENHANCE AND EMPOWER HUMAN ACHIEVEMENT .
