electronic medical records systems on behalf of KCH Dubai .
Here , Himanshu Puri , CIO at KCH Dubai , tells us more about the company ’ s partnership with Oracle Cerner , how it is utilising new technology and the advancement of healthcare across the Middle East . . . .
What does your day-to-day look like at KCH Dubai ?
The most interesting part of my job is that there ' s no typical day . My job is so unpredictable .
I spend a considerable amount of time meeting people , whether it is someone at a parking lot or registration desk or walking in the corridors of the hospital . I just like to meet people . I believe it ' s a good way to stay connected with our patients and their families , my end-users , physicians , doctors and nurses . It helps to identify gaps quickly . It helps to design solutions better . And these direct connections also help with the adoption of technological changes at a large scale .
I also personally like spending time with my team – from any layer in my hierarchy . It is so easy to come up with innovative ideas but it gets more complicated when they bring people together to implement these solutions and connecting with the team allows me to dissolve that complexity .
While strategy , financial discussions , corporate alignment , project measurement and course correction are my day-to-day , I make it a point to allocate some time to update myself with the latest international , regional and industry-specific changes .
I do my best to keep physically active – like I stand and work , walk while on a phone call and keep hydrated . I believe these help me think better .

In both London and Dubai , KCH clinicians are modern and tech-savvy , so they expect to see a better technological ecosystem when they start with us . This also provides an opportunity for us to further improve the hospital ' s technology – this demand from end users and our insistence to make changes leads to a better ecosystem in our workplace . This has considerably reduced patient delays and improved user experience and we ' re looking at Oracle Cerner ’ s cloud offering to provide this cost-efficient , secure and scalable foundation . A mature ecosystem with these capabilities will pass a multitude of benefits onto patients , communities and the region .
How has utilising Oracle Cloud Infrastructure allowed KCH Dubai to scale-up and how is Oracle Cerner helping to facilitate the hospital ’ s future expansion ?
We are leveraging Oracle Cloud Dubai Region to drive new advancements and boost efficiencies by helping reduce the hospital ’ s
