Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Intelligent Health . tech . I hope you ’ ve all had a lovely month and enjoy the newest issue . For our cover this month we feature Casey Harris , CTO , PharmaWatch .

PharmaWatch – an IoT-based Systemas-a-Service software solution – helps customers maintain safe , regulatorycompliant standards for the storage of human tissue , vaccines and medicine by monitoring critical parameters such as temperature , humidity , CO 2 concentration and differential pressure .
The system provides real-time notifications , compliance reporting and business intelligence through a website and mobile app , ensuring organisations are prepared for regulatory audits and improving their operations . However , during early deployments , AmericanPharma found that relying on its customers ’ Wi-Fi networks created the risk of connectivity issues and data loss .
So , the organisation partnered with Eseye to further improve the reliability and resilience of PharmaWatch ’ s solution . On page 48 , Harris tells us more about this strategic partnership and the benefits AmericanPharma has seen from it .
On page 29 , our Dissecting Business evaluates security hygiene within the health sector . Check Point Software Technologies ’ new research shows that the industry is suffering from poor cyber-hygiene . The company provides five key things that businesses within this sector should have to ensure maximum security .
Security remains a key theme on page 32 , with our feature exploring the future of AI in patient care . Kirsty Biddiscombe , UK Head for AI , ML and Analytics at NetApp , explores the significance of Artificial Intelligence , how it can protect data and the astounding impact it has had on biomedical engineering .
Our Industry Investigation also looks at biomedical engineering and how it is being used to create regenerative medicine , such as PRP devices . Sarah Berndt , PhD in Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences – Head of Cell Therapy Research at Regen Lab AG , tells us more on page 39 .
The UK is the focus of our Regional Round-Up this month . NHS legacy systems are seriously outdated , with some being 30 years old . This has led to rising levels of fraud across the organisation . To combat this , Nigel Hall , Director of Client Solutions at Netcall , and Tom Houston , Client Partner for Healthcare at Gobeyond Partners , provide IT leaders with a 10-step plan on how to tackle this growing crisis .
