We now have more than 35,000 whole genomes from participants recruited through a state-of-the-art Qatar Biobank ( QBB ), with rich , deep phenotypic data and access to clinical records , plus multiomics data , making this dataset a goldmine for scientific discoveries that will engage local and international researchers for years to come .
Several landmark papers have already been published in high-impact journals characterising genomes from Qatar and the region for the first time at such depth and scale . These papers are filling important knowledge gaps on behalf of Qatar and over 400 million genetically underrepresented Arabs in the scientific literature .
