GE HEALTHCARE LAUNCHES AI-BASED 3D RECONSTRUCTION TO THE INTERVENTIONAL SUITE

GE HealthCare has announced the launch of CleaRecon

DL, technology powered by a deep-learning algorithm, to improve the quality of cone-beam computed tomography( CBCT) images. This Artificial Intelligence( AI)-driven solution is designed to remove streak artifacts caused by the pulsatile nature of blood flow in the arteries and changes in the distribution of contrast during CBCT acquisitions in liver, prostate, neuro and endovascular aortic repair procedures. CleaRecon DL recently received US FDA 510( k) clearance and CE mark and will be available for use on the Allia platform. remains crucial in interventional procedures for its ability to provide comprehensive visualisation of anatomical structures and may enhance procedural accuracy.
“ The introduction of CleaRecon DL represents a leap forward in the interventional suite and for the advancement of CBCT. By improving image quality and reducing artifacts, this technology can empower clinicians to perform procedures with greater precision and confidence,” said Arnaud Marie, General Manager, Interventional Solutions at GE HealthCare.“ This solution builds on our portfolio of tools aimed at improving the user experience and workflow efficiency, enabling clinicians to deliver more accurate and effective interventions for enhanced patient outcomes.”
CBCT is used in interventional suites to provide crosssectional imaging during procedures. However, the quality of CBCT reconstructed images may be diminished due to artifacts resulting from vessels’ pulsatility, which can reduce image clarity and accuracy. These limitations can impact the confidence in CBCT image interpretation and its adoption in routine clinical practice. Despite these challenges, CBCT

JOHNSON & JOHNSON MEDTECH REDEFINES IMAGE CLARITY IN 2D INTRACARDIAC IMAGING

Johnson & Johnson MedTech, a global leader in cardiac arrhythmia treatment, announced the US launch of the SOUNDSTAR CRYSTAL Ultrasound Catheter for intracardiac echocardiography( ICE) imaging in cardiac ablation procedures.

The device provides clearer, enhanced image quality compared to other ICE catheters, representing an advanced 2D ICE catheter. The CARTOSOUND FAM enables automatic generation of the left atrial anatomy by a novel Artificial Intelligence algorithm using images collected from a rotation of the ultrasound catheter in the right atrium, simplifying the integrated workflow for electrophysiologists performing cardiac ablation procedures for patients.
“ We are proud to advance our legacy in integrated ultrasound catheters with this latest innovation that equips electrophysiologists with the tools they need to promote patient safety and drive effective results,” said Jasmina Brooks, President, Electrophysiology, Johnson & Johnson MedTech.“ The superior image quality, improved catheter maneuverability and stability of the SOUNDSTAR CRYSTAL Ultrasound Catheter, along with seamless CARTO 3 System integration can help enable a zero fluoroscopy workflow, enhancing procedure effectiveness and safety for both healthcare professionals and patients they treat.”
