BRIDGE NEUROTECH AND BUTTERFLY NETWORK ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TO DEVELOP FULLY NON-INVASIVE BRAIN- COMPUTER INTERFACE

Bridge Neurotech( Bridge), which emerged from stealth with the goal of building a completely non-invasive braincomputer interface( BCI), and Butterfly Network( Butterfly), a pioneer and leader in semiconductor-based ultrasound, programmable cloud software and AI, has announced a research and development agreement through Butterfly Embedded.

Bridge was founded with a mission to make BCIs possible without brain surgery or implants. The company believes advances in neuroscience, semiconductors and AI have created an opportunity to use ultrasound to image and decode brain activity through the skull, with the potential to restore function and expand human capabilities. As part of its emergence from stealth, Bridge also announced its first human research study and is now enrolling participants.
Bridge will license Butterfly’ s Ultrasound-on-Chip technology for its exploration of non-surgical BCIs. The multi-year agreement includes payments to Butterfly for technology access and development milestones, as well as commitments to purchase Butterfly hardware.
“ We started Bridge because we believe the pieces are finally in place to make a non-invasive brain-computer interface possible and ultrasound is central to that opportunity,” said Will Biederman, Founder and CEO, Bridge Neurotech.“ Butterfly has already brought ultrasound onto a fully integrated semiconductor chip, giving us a powerful and programmable foundation as we work toward real-time, noninvasive interaction with the brain.”
“ The BCI category holds enormous potential, from treating serious conditions to expanding human capabilities,” said Joseph DeVivo, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Butterfly Network.

UNION HEALTHCARE INSIGHT LAUNCHES FUTURE OF MARGINS INITIATIVE TO HELP HEALTH SYSTEMS RESPOND TO UNCERTAINTY IN YEARS AHEAD

Union Healthcare Insight, a leading strategic insight firm, has announced the Future of Margins Initiative, a comprehensive national scenario planning model and strategic research suite, built for health system executives facing unprecedented changes to healthcare demand and cost structures.

Health system operating margins face relentless pressure in the years ahead. While most systems have experience modelling traditional financial pressures, like unfavourable cost and reimbursement trends, few have trustworthy insight to plan for market forces with less historical precedent. Alongside already challenged economics, health systems must plan for: unprecedented utilisation shifts by ageing populations; increasing use of AI by health plans; structural changes to the healthcare workforce; rapid GLP-1 adoption and novel digital consumer options for care.
Without reliable inputs and adaptable modelling, finance and planning teams risk developing under-informed strategic plans and budgets for the future.
Union’ s Future of Margins Initiative is a comprehensive research and forecasting programme designed to model and anticipate these impacts. Rather than producing a single forecast, it lets health system leaders test their existing forecast against a range of plausible futures and toggle
Christopher Kerns, CEO of Union Healthcare Insight, said:“ Our job is to give leaders an objective and comprehensive view of what lies ahead, including the parts that are uncomfortable. The Future of Margins model is built so they can plan for the futures that are actually plausible instead of betting on one forecast – and then plot a realistic path forward.”
