HCA HEALTHCARE ROLLS OUT CLOUD EHR ACROSS 34 US HOSPITALS

HCA Healthcare has completed the rollout of a cloudbased electronic health record( EHR) platform across 34 hospitals in two of its US divisions.

The healthcare provider has implemented MEDITECH Expanse across 18 hospitals in its Capital Division, covering Virginia and New Hampshire, and 16 hospitals in its North Florida Division.
“ Every successful Expanse go-live is an important step toward a more connected and consistent care environment across HCA Healthcare,” said Dr. Jake O’ Shea, HCA Healthcare’ s Vice President and Chief Health Information Officer.“ By strengthening the foundation for our clinicians, our data and our care processes, we can help create opportunities to optimise workflows and share new insights that help our clinicians deliver care more effectively to every patient we serve.”
HCA Healthcare handles approximately 47 million patient encounters annually and uses the resulting data to identify insights and develop clinical practices.
They are the first two of HCA Healthcare’ s 15 US divisions to complete the deployment as part of a wider programme across its US and UK operations.
The latest implementations follow an initial rollout involving 22 hospitals during 2025. By August 2026, 72 HCA Healthcare hospitals across the US and UK were running Expanse, with another group scheduled to go live in October.
The platform provides a common foundation for clinical information and workflows and includes mobile access, clinical decision support and Artificial Intelligence capabilities.

SAVA RAISES US $ 36 MILLION SERIES B AND SIGNS EUROPEAN DEAL WITH ASCENSIA FOR ITS NEXT- GENERATION GLUCOSE MICROSENSOR

Sava Technologies, a London-based health technology company behind a next-generation glucose microsensor, has announced a US $ 36 million Series B alongside an agreement appointing Ascensia, a subsidiary of PHC Holdings Corporation, as its commercialisation and distribution partner, initially in Europe.

Founded in 2019, Sava has developed a wearable built on its proprietary microsensor technology, which measures molecules just beneath the skin, painlessly and continuously. While starting with glucose, the platform is designed to track other biomarkers too, opening the door to continuous sensing well beyond diabetes. The announcements give Sava the capital to scale manufacturing and the infrastructure to bring its first product to market.
Around 12 million people use continuous glucose monitoring today, against 589 million adults living with diabetes, a number set to reach 853 million by 2050( International Diabetes Federation). The market is growing, but with just two manufacturers leading it, demand is outpacing choice for distributors, clinicians and patients.
Sava’ s first product is designed to close that gap. Its microsensors are around ten times shorter than the filament in traditional continuous glucose monitors, which reduces disruption to the skin while still reaching interstitial fluid. And since the technology was designed from the outset for highvolume manufacture, it is built to reach people at scale.
On the back of major technical breakthroughs, Sava is now turning its focus to commercialisation and has partnered with one of the most established names in diabetes care to get there at scale.
